The Playhouse in the light of day

Five young actors, looking to rehearse their play, are offered the use of the Whitestone Valley Playhouse. They are ushered inside by kindly old Mr. Nichols, the somewhat sketchy caretaker. Once inside the 1895 reconditioned church they begin to hear voices and decide to return when there is daylight. But daylight finds them locked inside and as the voices become ghostly, maniacal screams they are unable to escape. One by one they fall unconscious.
From here the spirits commandeer their bodies and they are forced to reenact the events of a one hundred year old interracial love affair, the violent, racist reaction to it and the three resulting murders.
Did these murders really happen? Who is Mr. Nichols? And what lies beneath The Tree Behind The Church?
